The Little General lived a long, long, time
ago in a land far, far away. She was enamored
with all things sparkly, forever discontented
with colorless, lusterless, and average objects—
as she would often say: “It’s boring to be
average.” Some called her picky, others called her tacky, some even dared to say bossy, but she liked to think of herself as merely adventurously particular. Each and every day she embarked on a quest to find exactly what she liked in exactly the manner she liked. She would wake in the morning, don her hot pink tutu and think to herself; “Today, I’m excited about everything!” And so she grew, enjoying the beautiful things around her and sharing her delight with everyone around.
